VOTER REGISTRATION WEDNESDAY: New sign-up drive continues in September
A Town Committee voter registration drive will resume Wednesday, September 3rd at New Britain Democratic headquarters, 19 Bassett Street, beginning at 5:30 pm.
In August more than 200 registrations were submitted through the canvassing of neighborhoods and signing up of new voters.
Town Committee members and volunteers are invited to join the August voter registration drive. If you can volunteer please go to Democratic Headquarters, 19 Bassett Street, to get instructions, voter lists and locations.

Pizza In New Britain: Working Families Fundraiser At Max Pizza II Tuesday, 9/2
The Working Families Party will hold a Pizza Party Fundraiser hosted by Art Perry, Senator Terry Gerratana, Rep. Rick Lopes and former House Speaker Chris Donovan on Tuesday, September 2nd, from 5 to 7 pm. The event will be held at Max Pizza II, 79 Shuttle Meadow Avenue, New Britain.
The suggested donation is $25 to $100, and all contributions will support the Connecticut Working Families Party’s upcoming election work.

DTC BACKYARD BBQ IN PICTURES: By Frank Gerratana
The Town Committee’s Backyard BBQ brought great food donated by DTC members, good weather and candidates to the home of 26th State Rep. Peter Tercyak Saturday August 30.
With campaign 2014 set to begin in earnest this Labor Day weekend, NB Democrats welcomed Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, 5th District Cong. Elizabeth Esty, Attorney General George Jepsen and four members of the New Britain legislative delegation – Reps. Tercyak (26), Bobby Sanchez (25), Rick Lopes (24) and State Senator Terry Gerratana (6).
Leaders stressed that the turnout of voters in New Britain will be a key to winning for Governor, Congress and in legislative races in November.
Thanks to DTC members and volunteers and contributors for making the Labor Day Weekend event a success.

The Alton F. Brooks Scholarship: Fund Drive Kick Off September 18th
A drive to establish a permanent scholarship in honor of DTC leader Alton Brooks has been launched and a reception is planned for September 18th at the Opportunities Industrialization Center of New Britain (OIC) annual meeting.
The scholarship fund will be based at the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain (CFGNB) and checks may be made to CFGNB, 74 Vine Street, New Britain, CT 06052. Write “Alton Brooks Scholarship” in the memo.
