Rep. Chris Murphy (D-5) took on the right-wing’s radical baiting of labor union political activity at a Congressional hearing this week. Political activity that helped bring a minimum wage, workmen’s comp. the family medical leave act and the weekend, among other things, can’t be called “radical”. To generations that worked hard and played by the rules it’s called PROGRESS.
The concerted effort against unions is part of a larger strategy to divide and conquer. Income inequality and intergenerational mobility (the ability for children to do better than their parents) have both reached historically poor levels. I have addressed this several times. Most directly here

If we don’t challenge the role of money in campaigns and lobbying, then this trend will accelerate. Each of you must say enough is enough.
