Szabo For Tax Collector, Wednesday 10/26 Fundraiser
The Committee for Todd Szabo, a member of the Board of Assessment Appeal and District 13 DTC member, will hold a fund-raising party in support of Szabo’s candidacy for Tax Collector on Wednesday, October 26th
The Szabo event will be held at the home of Dr. Carol Austad, 38 Wellington Street, (near CCSU), from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $25. There’ll be chili, pizza, beverages and desserts for guests and supporters of Democratic nominee for tax collector.
Szabo, a McClintock Street resident and 2007 graduate of CCSU, has served as a legislative aide on education issues. He is a two-term member of the Board of Assessment Appeal. Todd’s campaign for tax collector is based on the following ideas for the tax collector office at City Hall:
• Organize office in a professional manner in accordance with the duties of tax collector enumerated in the city charter “to collect all taxes and assessments” and stay current with state laws;
•Ensure office implements state of the art and user-friendly technology; improve tax collections and bring ease of use to taxpayers within budget limits.
•Advocate for property tax reform and reducing the burdens of a regressive tax on working families and retirees.
