State Rep. Tim O’Brien, the endorsed Democrat for Mayor, won a convincing victory in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary garnering 70% of the vote and affirming the July endorsement of the DTC. The Mayoral nomination was the only office on the line for Democrats. O’Brien, a former city alderman and 24th District legislator, gained the victory with support from scores of volunteers, members of the endorsed slate in the first mayoral primary for Democrats in 16 years.
Alderman DeFronzo Fundraiser At Great Taste Tuesday, 9/20
Ward 4 Alderman David DeFronzo, who is running for an at large spot on the Common Council this year, will hold a fund-raising reception Tuesday, September 20th, from 5-7 p.m. at Great Taste Restaurant, 597 West Main Street, New Britain. A DeFronzo for Alderman event with a suggested contribution of $50. The maximum individual contribution for alderman is $250.
Headquarters Grand Opening; DTC Meeting Thursday, 9/22
A grand opening for New Britain Democratic Headquarters will be held on Thursday, September 22nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 19 Bassett Street. Candidates, local and state leaders and officials will be on hand in support of Tim O’Brien and the Row A slate. All are welcome. The opening reception will be followed by the September meeting of the Democratic Town Committee at 7 p.m.
